About MTS

Introduction to Masque Theatre School.

Masque Theatre School was opened in 1996 offering two classes, one in Drama & one in Freestyle Dance. Since then we have expanded the school to accommodate the increasing demand for these subjects & developed new ideas that give pupils a larger choice of classes.
Masque offers a wide variety of performance subjects. Our aim is for pupils to improve their skills within a fun yet disciplined environment. Many outlets are offered within the subjects we teach, from examinations, festivals & shows, through to Pre - Associate teaching qualifications. All classes are taught by qualified teachers/student teachers who are dedicated to giving & getting the best from their pupils.

Shows & Performances.

At MTS performance experience is offered in a variety of ways. There is our anuual Junior & Senior Dance Shows, which all of our dance & musical theatre pupils are involved in and our annual Drama Production for our drama pupils. These are held at The Winter Gardens Theatre & The Theatre Royal, Margate. We also have an in house musical theatre recital exclusivly for the musical theatre classes to showcase the work done during the term.
Included in the variety of performance outlets is our Inter School Festival. This is designed to encourage pupils to dance and perform solo pieces. This is a good build up to festival work and great preparation for those who will audition for amateur and professional productions or perfoming arts college.

We also have the wondeful opportuntiy to take part in performances in London's West End at Her Majesties Theatre, Sadlers Wells Theatre, London Palladium & The Theatre Royal Drury, Lane. These are amateur events held for performing arts students from schools all over the UK, giving them the opportunity to experience
what it is like to perform in a professional theatre.

Alongside these events those pupils who wish to do so may take part in Festival Work, Competitive Work and Demonstration Work. Our pupils are regularly invited to take part in local Pantomimes, Charity Galas and Modelling for the Thanet Photgraphic Society.
